Jeff Dowd & Barely Breathing take aim at blind allegiance with “Only One”

Jeff Dowd & Barely Breathing, banda independiente de rock de Estados Unidos, presentan «Only One», un single de hard rock con alma de blues-rock publicado el 16 de octubre.

La canción mira a un mundo que ha perdido el rumbo, donde hay gente dispuesta a seguir a una figura que solo mira por sí misma aunque el camino la lleve a su propia ruina. Habla de la atracción peligrosa de quien convence a los demás de que solo él tiene las respuestas y, en lugar de ofrecer un final cómodo, convierte esa tensión en una descarga de guitarras.

En lo musical, ambiente oscuro, guitarras musculosas, una batería que empuja, voz potente, bajo y teclados. La banda cita como referencias a Rival Sons, The Black Keys y Queens of the Stone Age.

Jeff Dowd compone y toca la batería. El proyecto publica su música de forma independiente y apuesta por guitarras grandes, estribillos que se quedan y un sonido muy humano, a caballo entre el rock clásico y el hard rock de hoy.

Jeff Dowd & Barely Breathing, an independent rock band from the United States, present «Only One», a hard rock single with a blues-rock soul released on 16 October.

The song looks at a world gone off the rails, where people are willing to follow a self-serving figure even when the path leads to their own downfall. It is about the dangerous pull of someone who convinces others that he alone has the answers and, rather than offering a comfortable ending, it turns that tension into a release of guitars.

Musically, it brings a dark mood, muscular guitars, driving drums, powerful vocals, bass and keys. The band name Rival Sons, The Black Keys and Queens of the Stone Age as references.

Jeff Dowd writes the songs and plays drums. The project releases its music independently, going for big guitars, hooks that stick and an unmistakably human sound, somewhere between classic rock and today’s hard rock.
