TIBORIAN asks who is really in charge in “Consensus Engine”

🇬🇧 English version
From Zurich, Swiss artist and producer TIBORIAN released «Consensus Engine» on October 14: a dark analog art-rock track built on a four-note bass motif, a restrained 78 BPM pulse and a single voice that moves from intimate observation to firm confrontation.
The song is about a quiet transfer of authority: we build models and systems to make sense of reality and, almost unnoticed, the representation ends up outranking the thing it was meant to describe. There is no villain and no evil machine: the cage is built through reasonable acts of administration, one after another, until it becomes a cage with no lock. Its final line sums it up: the map was never the world, we just forgot.
For TIBORIAN this is not an attack on technology, but on something more unsettling: perfectly rational systems redefining reality without anyone deciding they should. The female backing vocals, by the way, are AI-generated on purpose, as an echo of the Sirens in Homer’s Odyssey.
TIBORIAN began releasing music later in life, encouraged by his daughter to share what he had kept private. Music has been his sanctuary since childhood, ever since his father showed him that sound could carry memory, pain and freedom, and his songs blend rock, metal, cinematic atmosphere, psychedelia and electronics.
«Consensus Engine» is already in rotation on The Beerman Club Radio, in our October playlist and in the Song of the Month vote.
