Ulf Ahlberg is “Coming Back” with modern glam rock

Ulf Ahlberg, autor y productor independiente, vuelve a la carga con «I’m Coming Back», el himno con el que pone nombre a su nuevo territorio: el glam rock moderno.

Publicada en abril como declaración de intenciones, la canción no es un viaje nostálgico ni una copia: toma el ADN descarado del glam de principios de los setenta y lo funde con rock moderno y pesado. Cintas de voz analógicas sobre un bajo electrónico profundo y dos baterías a la vez, para un himno de medio tiempo con un muro de sonido de estadio. Y un detalle de artesano: Ahlberg movió a mano notas sueltas para que las máquinas tuvieran swing de verdad.

Es la avanzadilla de «REBEL RAZOR», su disco de glam rock moderno, previsto para mediados de enero de 2027 bajo un lema prestado de Ian Hunter, de Mott the Hoople: bueno para el cuerpo, bueno para el alma. Ahlberg, que también es director y guionista, construye las canciones como películas, a base de tensión y peso emocional.

Lo tiene claro: para quien tiene millones de canciones donde elegir, todo lo que no ha escuchado antes es nuevo.

Independent auteur and producer Ulf Ahlberg is back with «I’m Coming Back», the anthem that names his new territory: modern glam rock.

First released in April as a statement of intent, the song is neither a nostalgia trip nor a copycat: it takes the swaggering DNA of early-’70s glam and melts it into heavy modern rock. Analog vocal tapes over a deep electronic sub and two drum kits at once, for a mid-tempo anthem with a stadium wall of sound. And a craftsman’s touch: Ahlberg shifted individual notes by hand so the machines would truly swing.

It leads the way to «REBEL RAZOR», his modern glam rock album due in mid-January 2027 under a motto borrowed from Mott the Hoople’s Ian Hunter: good for your body, good for your soul. Also a director and writer, Ahlberg builds songs like films, layering tension and emotional weight.

His view is simple: for a listener with millions of songs to choose from, everything they haven’t heard before is brand new.
