Garrett Anthony Rice pays tribute to Syd Barrett on “PROPERTY”
Desde Irlanda, Garrett Anthony Rice presenta «PROPERTY (An Ode To Roger Syd Barrett, a genius, 1946–infinity)», un homenaje sin rodeos a uno de los nombres más mitificados del rock.
Lejos de pintar a Barrett como una nota trágica a pie de página, Rice lo reivindica como la fuerza creativa que fue: intransigente, eléctrico e inolvidable. El tema arranca con un pulso afilado y lleno de energía y desemboca en un groove más introspectivo, a medio camino entre el rock de alto voltaje y la calma reflexiva.
«PROPERTY» es un nuevo adelanto de EQUINOX, un doble álbum de 18 canciones al que Rice dio forma entre Irlanda y Reino Unido, y llega después de «My Sons», escrita para Peggy Gallagher, la madre de Liam y Noel. Nacido en el condado de Dublín y afincado desde hace veinte años en Greystones (Wicklow), Rice debutó en 2023 bajo el nombre (i) CONSULT antes de lanzarse con el suyo propio.

From Ireland, Garrett Anthony Rice presents “PROPERTY (An Ode To Roger Syd Barrett, a genius, 1946–infinity)”, a no-nonsense tribute to one of rock’s most mythologized figures.
Rather than painting Barrett as a tragic footnote, Rice celebrates him as the creative force he truly was: uncompromising, electric and unforgettable. The track opens with a sharp, energetic pulse and flows into a more introspective groove, somewhere between high-voltage rock and quiet reflection.
“PROPERTY” is another taste of EQUINOX, an 18-song double album Rice shaped across Ireland and the UK, and it follows “My Sons”, written for Peggy Gallagher, mother of Liam and Noel. Born in County Dublin and based in Greystones (Wicklow) for the last twenty years, Rice debuted in 2023 as (i) CONSULT before stepping out under his own name.
