wecandividebyzero retell the fall of Icarus with “Sun Seeker”

🇬🇧 English version
Gibraltar’s wecandividebyzero present «Sun Seeker», their new single, out today, October 23.
They’re a four-piece playing modern metal with one foot in metalcore, in the vein of Periphery, Architects and ERRA: technical, groove-driven riffs, soaring clean vocals and plenty of atmosphere. And they can boast of being one of the very few metal bands ever to come out of the Rock. Their debut album, released in September 2025, is closing in on 100,000 streams on Spotify.
On «Sun Seeker» they go back to the myth of Icarus, but tell it from the ground: through the eyes of Daedalus, the father who built the wings and watches his son climb toward the sun knowing exactly how the story ends. The song swings between the euphoria of flight, with soaring melodic passages, and a crushing final act for the fall. It’s about a passion that burns too hot to last, and about loving someone you can’t save.
Tristan Howes (vocals), Sam Cottam and Alex Vallejo (guitars) and Chris Osborne (drums) recorded and produced it themselves, with mixing and mastering by Pieter Rietkerk.
And it lands mid-flight: tomorrow, October 24, they play Xtreme Bar in Castelo Branco (Portugal), with a full Spanish and Portuguese tour about to be announced.
«Sun Seeker» is already on our October playlist and in the running for Song of the Month.
